“An extra feather in my cap”

The Mini-Transat La Boulangère is an opportunity for Jean-Baptiste, a naval architect by profession, to add another line to his CV. “It’s a personal challenge first and foremost, but it’s also a way for me to dip my toe into offshore racing and learn how these boats work. As a naval architect, it’ll be an extra feather in my cap”.

To make Martinique, Jean-Baptiste has opted for an Ofcet, number 880, with which Julien Pulvé was the 1st to arrive in Guadeloupe in the Mini-Transat 2015. A boat geared up for competition, she should enable him to be in the fight with her rivals. “I love how comfortable she is and her performance downwind. I think the boat’s been really well thought out. She’s a boat that’s beaten the 24-hour distance record too.” To support him and encourage him in this journey, this young father won’t forget to carry with him a photo of his baby, born in August 2019.

Nautical track record:

- Lots of dinghy racing (L’Equipe, 505, Hobie cat 16, Laser) and cruiser-racing (Open 7.50, J80, J92, First 92, etc.), a transatlantic cruise and lots of cruising with family and friends, together with the odd singlehanded delivery trip.
