Max motivation!

Like a lot of participants in the Mini-Transat, Florian Quenot earns a wage doing other things. A mechanical engineer in the offshore marine industry, in Paris, Florian is however giving himself the means to live out his passion.

“I grew up in Poitou-Charentes and went sailing in La Rochelle”, he explains. “Then I studied in Nantes and took part in races with the APCC Voile Sportive. The Mini-Transat is something that’s been in the back of my mind for a while now. Friends of mine participated in it four years ago and that inspired me to do the same. For my 30th birthday, I said to myself that it was my turn to go for it!”

“At that point, I looked around for a modern boat so I could perform well”, continues Florian. “When I saw that the naval architect David Raison was releasing a production Mini (the Maxi 650), I said to myself, you’re on! The innovative aspect of this boat really appeals to me and we’ve all seen what the prototype is capable of… My goal? To make the Top 10!”
