“Making it to the finish and enjoying my time out on the water as much as I have whilst putting my campaign together, bringing people together and getting them to work alongside one another, that’s what a great Mini Transat is to me”, assures Pierre-Olivier Grand, who’s totally succeeded in fitting his sporting challenge into his professional life.
At the start, it wasn’t easy to combine the two for the sailor from Limoges in south-west-central France. “When I took one of my first degrees to become a chartered accountant, not everything was easy for me, amidst the various constraints and the intensity of the workload. I needed to cast my mind to the future and broaden my horizon, and in this regard, the Mini Transat was a must”, explains the skipper of the Nacira 6.50 in the colours of Audefi, the firm with which he is currently a trainee, and Solibio, a French manufacturer of organic cosmetic and cleaning products.
“My Mini is already a success even before the start, but there is still an ocean to cross. It’s a big challenge for me, but it also comes with the promise of a great journey of discovery, because what I’ve already experienced since my arrival on the Mini 6.50 circuit goes far deeper than I could have imagined. I find it incredibly energising!” raves Pierre-Olivier, who’s evidently already smitten!
