“My 20-year-old dream”

“I first heard about the Mini-Transat in 1999 and ever since I’ve been planning to take part in it one day. It’s my 20-year-old dream. And now here I am!” And though Fedor Druzhinin is a Mini-Transat La Boulangère rookie, he already knows the way since he’s completed five transatlantic passages. A sailing professional (sailing instructor), he’s covered over 100,000 sea miles in his lifetime, 20,000 of which have been singlehanded. Armed with this vast experience, the Russian sailor fully intends to make landfall in Martinique with a good result.

Fedor Druzhinin has a prototype launched in 2009, which already boasts a long and fine track record. “She was built by a Czech and then she was owned by an American, two French sailors and a Russian. She’s probably the most international prototype on the circuit”, he says proudly.

Nautical track record:

- Five transatlantic passages
- Over 100,000 miles covered
- Races on the Mini circuit in 2018 and 2019
