Reconciling a Mini project and my professional life!

Four years ago, Nicolas embarked on his first Mini-Transat aboard a prototype, the 630 with which he finished 9th. This year, he’s decided to return to the event aboard a production boat. It’s a carefully thought out decision for this strategy consultant in Paris, who was keen to juggle a Mini project and his professional life. “This time round, I wanted to return with a production boat since I’m working at the same time. My goal is to rank higher than I did last time, whilst keeping up with my work in Paris, which isn’t easy when your direct rivals are working full-time on their projects!”

His boat, a Pogo 3 bought from Tahitian Guillaume Combescure, has an electrical installation powered entirely by solar energy, but that’s not all! “She also has a secret weapon: a 100 Pacific Franc coin below the mast (installed by Guillaume) to stop it falling. It hasn’t failed me yet!” And this isn’t the only lucky charm aboard Nicolas’ boat since the latter will also have the famous Jimmy aboard, a fluffy rabbit which accompanied Clarisse Crémer in her last Mini-Transat La Boulangère. “It hasn’t left my side since I started out in the Mini. It serves as a pillow, psychologist and sometime a sponge unfortunately.”
