Marine service provider Go to skipper medias

“To do a good job”

Julien Berthélémé boasts a vast and eclectic track record. From a very early age, he had a good schooling, readying for the fray in the Baie de Morlaix with the likes of Armel Le Cléac’h and Jérémie Beyou… He raced a variety of craft before directing his attention on marine and environmental training, creating his own structure. A project manager, racer, skipper, coach, préparateur and technician: Julien is a Swiss army knife.

A member of Team BFR Marée Haute, this year he has the opportunity to participate in the Mini-Transat La Boulangère and thus add a very fine line to what is already a nice, plump CV. He’ll be sailing on a Rolland design launched in 2008, aboard which moviemaker-sailor Stanislas Thuret completed the Mini-Transat 2017. “She’s a seaworthy, reliable and versatile boat but she’s too outmoded to take the win,” admits Julien Berthélémé. “My objective is to carve out a fine wake and pull off some great moves. I want to do a good job.”

Nautical track record:

- 29 years of racing: offshore sailing dinghies (solo, double and crewed)
- National Diploma in Cruiser Racing
- Races on the Mini circuit in 2018 and 2019
