Having always done a lot of sailing, whether it be dinghy sailing or cruising, the bulk of it alongside his father, today Antoine Bos has set himself the goal of becoming ‘a better sailor’.
“To achieve that, I said to myself that I may as well go at it all guns blazing and set myself a really big challenge!” explains the sailor from the Liguria region, who has since been catapulted to the start of this Mini Transat – EuroChef 2021. And yet, it’s not been easy for this anaesthetist – resuscitator at the Nantes University Hospital to tick all the boxes involved in such a challenge, particularly when he already has a very busy life.
“2020 was complicated with COVID-19. As a result, I had to free up some time from May of this year to fully devote myself to my campaign”, explains the skipper of the Nacira 6.50 Rhino, a boat launched in 2012, aboard which he hopes to secure an ‘unofficial’ top spot among the pointy boats in Guadeloupe. “It would be quite something to place well among the boats from the same generation as my own, but for me a fine Mini Transat would involve getting a Mini to the other side first and foremost and having fun from beginning to end”.
