Carlos Olsson Ripoll (691 – Bridgestothesea), 30th Production boat skipper : “I’m happy to finish but I’m keen to head back out to sea”
Carlos Olsson Ripoll was the 30th production boat skipper to cross the finish line of the first leg of the 23rd edition of the Mini Transat EuroChef this Saturday 9 October at 13h57'30" (UTC). In so doing, the skipper of Bridgestothesea took 12 days 27 hours and 30 seconds to complete the 1,350-mile course between Les Sables d’Olonne and Santa Cruz de La Palma.
The first leg was incredible. I thought it was going to be really good, but I couldn’t have imagined how amazingly cool it has been. The first day out, I didn’t sail very well, but after that, once we stopped, I hit reset on what I wanted to do. I asked myself some questions and that changed a lot of things. I think I’m the first Pogo 2 but I’m not sure. I’m happy as that’s what I wanted. I’m happy to finish too, but I’m keen to head back out to sea because it was really cool every day”.
